Gülşah Günay graduated from Gazi University, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Department of Business Administration in 2005. In 2020, she completed the English Language Teaching Bachelor's Program at Anadolu University.

She has been working as a public sector professional for nearly 20 years. She started her career as an Assistant State Revenue Specialist at the Revenue Administration in June 2006. In December 2008, she was appointed as an Assistant Specialist at the Turkish Accounting Standards Board and continued her career as an expert at the Public Oversight, Accounting and Auditing Standards Authority until March 2023.

Since March 2023, she has been serving as the Head of the Sustainability Standards Department at the Public Oversight Authority. She is also a Certified Public Accountant and Independent Auditor. She serves as the designated representative of the Authority at the IFRS Foundation’s Sustainability Standards Advisory Forum (SSAF) for the 2026–2028 term.

She is married with two children and is proficient in English.
