Mariela is a member of the Technical Staff at the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB), where she has worked since 2007 on projects including Joint Ventures, Fair Value Measurement and Rate-regulated Activities. Her work contributed to IFRS 11 Joint Arrangements and to IFRS 20 Regulatory Assets and Regulatory Liabilities.

Before joining the IASB, Mariela worked at Vodafone, Royal Bank of Scotland and KPMG Spain, qualifying as a Certified Public Accountant in the United States. She holds a degree in Business Administration from Universidad Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona and a Master’s degree in Finance from London Business School.
