As Managing Director, Michel Madelain leads the IFRS Foundation’s strategic planning, governance, funding and expenditure activities and day-to-day operations. He also supports the work of the Trustees and both boards.

Michel is a highly experienced leader who served as an IFRS Foundation Trustee from 2018−2023. During his time as a Trustee, he chaired the Nominating Committee, was instrumental in establishing the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) and led the consolidation of the Climate Disclosure Standards Board and the Value Reporting Foundation into the IFRS Foundation.

Previously, Michel was President of Moody’s Investors Service, where he spent over two decades, holding several positions.

Prior to joining Moody’s, Michel served as a partner of EY’s auditing practice in France.
