Veronika Pountcheva was appointed as a full-time member of the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) in August 2022, effective 1 October 2022.

Prior to her appointment, Ms Pountcheva served as Senior Vice President of corporate responsibility of METRO AG and Co-chief Executive Officer of NX Food, with responsibility for developing the company’s long-term sustainability strategy. She previously held leadership roles at METRO in Bulgaria, Ukraine, Germany and Serbia. Ms Pountcheva also chaired initiatives at the Consumer Goods Forum and Leading Executives Advancing Diversity.
