Joseph Bachkosky

Head of Invesment Management - Special Situations at Rialto Capital Management

Mr. Bachkosky joined Rialto in 2010 and currently serves as Head of Special Situations of Rialto’s Investment Management credit business, which includes oversight of Rialto’s loan acquisition and bank solution efforts, including Rialto’s participation in a structured transaction with the FDIC in 2023. In addition to leading Rialto’s Special Situations business, Mr. Bachkosky has been a leader in Rialto’s credit platform including CMBS investments, mezzanine, preferred equity investments, and direct loan origination. Mr. Bachkosky has been key in Rialto’s involvement with the NPL securitization market, issuing over $800 million of notes in its seven NPL securitizations to date, and developing Rialto’s approach to investing in CMBS post-risk retention.

Prior to joining Rialto, Mr. Bachkosky held various roles in finance and consulting where he focused on financial and operational restructuring. In 2009, Mr. Bachkosky served as a Summer Associate at Lazard Frères and served in a variety of consulting roles with The Brooks Group and Accenture from 2003 – 2008. Mr. Bachkosky received an MBA from the Yale School of Management and a B.S. in Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh.
