Dan Miller
CEO at Camillo Companies
Speaker

Profile

Dan Miller is Chief Executive Officer of Camillo Companies, a vertically integrated residential real estate platform operating across the full housing value chain — from land development and for-sale homebuilding to build-to-rent and multifamily communities.

Since assuming the CEO role, Dan has focused on instituting a disciplined capital allocation framework, strengthening investment governance, elevating product quality, and driving operational efficiency across the platform's three operating verticals: Academy Development, one of Texas's largest residential land developers; Legend Homes and Princeton Homes, a top-50 national homebuilder; and Simply Homes, a commercial real estate portfolio of 11,000+ residential units.

Dan brings more than 20 years of experience at the intersection of real estate operations, institutional finance, and corporate governance. As CFO of Highland Homes, a top-25 homebuilder with over $2 billion in annual revenue, he led the company's financial strategy during a period of significant growth — scaling production from 2,000 to 4,000 units annually, sourcing over $1.5 billion in debt capital across secured and unsecured syndicated facilities, and managing a banking syndicate of 16+ national and regional institutions.

Dan also led the sale of Highland Homes from its founders to an employee stock ownership plan (ESOP), subsequently designing the corporate governance structure for the newly formed Board of Directors to ensure fiduciary integrity and effective oversight of management. He developed the concept and launched HHS Residential, a commercial general contractor for turnkey build-to-rent single-family homes, building the business from inception to over 3,000 units in the pipeline and $150 million in new revenue within two years.

Earlier in his career, Dan served as Associate Director of Finance at TPG Capital, one of the world's largest private equity firms, where he led financial planning and analysis for the holding company and management company. He began his career at Ernst & Young, where he led audit engagements across real estate, private equity, industrial, and consumer sectors.

Dan holds expertise in corporate strategy, capital allocation, corporate governance, ESOP transaction structuring, enterprise financial strategy, and operational efficiency.
