With more than 25 years of experience in residential mortgage servicing rights (MSRs), Eric Edwardson advises leading market participants on some of the most significant MSR-related transactions in the industry. His practice spans the full spectrum of MSR-related matters, including one-off purchases and sales, comprehensive programs for repeated purchases, servicing and subservicing agreements, financings of MSRs and advances, “excess” and participation structures, early loan buyouts, and company M&A involving platforms for servicing and MSR ownership. Eric also counsels clients on relationships with Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Ginnie Mae, FHA, VA and FHLBs as well as on regulatory compliance obligations associated with MSR ownership and servicing operations.
Outside of MSRs, Eric Edwardson provides a broad range of transactional and business counsel to clients in the residential mortgage banking and other consumer finance industries, with particular expertise in transactions for the origination, purchase, sale, servicing and financing of residential mortgage assets. Eric’s representation of clients in these industries is informed by his extensive knowledge and experience regarding the market, typical business and operational practices of participants, and the state and federal regulatory environment.
