In 2020, Boom’s co-founder and CEO, Rob Whiting, was helping two of his family members navigate housing instability due to COVID-related job loss. During this time, Rob saw just how difficult and archaic accessing and affording rentals could be for his family members—and the 110+ million renters in the US.

The team at Boom is building modern rental financial services from the point of move in to move out to benefit both renters and property managers. For renters, Boom offers a seamless rental application experience as well as credit building opportunities for what is likely their largest monthly expense—rent. For property managers, Boom enables them to incentivize on-time payments, reduce fraud, and grow revenue across the renter lifecycle.
