Profile

Alan Flanagan leads all client relationship management globally for BNY Asset Servicing business. Asset Servicing delivers investment administration, operational and technology solutions to asset managers, asset owners, alternative investment managers, insurance companies, banks and broker-dealers.

Previously, Alan led Asset Servicing’s Fund Services business, which encompasses Accounting Solutions, Alternative Investment Services, Exchange-Traded Fund (ETF) Services and Investor Solutions. Earlier, he was head of Alternatives, which provides operational support to alternative asset managers and asset owners investing in alternatives.

Alan has deep expertise in the asset servicing business spanning the full range of fund investments, including mutual funds, UCITS, ETFs, hedge funds, private equity funds, infrastructure funds, credit funds and real estate funds.

Before joining BNY, Alan served as the Americas head of business development for UBS Fund Services (Cayman) Ltd. Alan began his career at KPMG Financial Services in Dublin, Ireland, where he trained as a Chartered Accountant in its audit group.

Alan is a member of the Board of Directors of CIBC, a joint venture between the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC) and the Financial Corporation to offer asset servicing to institutional investors; and member of the Board of Directors of Innocap Investment Management, Inc., a leading alternative investment platform provider. He is also the Executive Sponsor for Neurodiversity for HEART, a BNY employee resource group that promotes awareness, education, and empowerment for diverse abilities in the workplace. Alan holds a bachelor’s in economics (BA), is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland (FCA) and has been admitted to the Institute of Directors as a Chartered Director (CDir).
