Anya Coverman is the President and CEO of the Institute for Portfolio Alternatives (IPA), a global organization for the alternative investments industry. In this role, she leads the organization’s efforts to bring together asset managers, banks, wealth managers, fund platforms and others, through education and advocacy. Previously, Ms. Coverman served as the IPA’s SVP of Government Affairs and General Counsel. In this capacity, she served as a primary representative before financial regulatory agencies. Prior to IPA, she supported policy and legal efforts as Deputy Director of Policy and Associate General Counsel at NASAA, representing U.S. state financial regulators. Her professional background also includes practicing law at the international firm Greenberg Traurig and at a financial services firm. Anya holds a J.D. from American University and a B.A. from the University of Miami. She is a licensed attorney admitted to practice in several U.S. jurisdictions.
