Bob Smith is the President and Co‑Chief Investment Officer of Sage Advisory Services, the Austin‑based investment firm he founded in 1996. With more than 40 years of global portfolio management and institutional research experience, his career includes senior roles at Moody’s, Loeb Rhodes, Merrill Lynch, and a term advising the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency (SAMA) on the management of its foreign reserves.

His market insights and research have been featured in many leading financial publications, and he is a two‑time recipient of the Investments & Wealth Institute (IWI) prestigious Stephen L. Kessler Award. Under Bob’s leadership Sage Advisory now manages over $30 billion in institutional assets, making it one of the largest independent advisory firms in Texas.
