In a 30-year career in the European investment management, pensions and insurance industries, Ian has served institutional, wealth management and family office investors and investment consultants in a range of client-facing roles.

Since founding Mercia Capital Partners in 2013, he has operated as an independent placement adviser to private markets GP’s, helping to raise capital from UK investors for both first-time and later vintage funds, primarily in private credit.

Prior to founding Mercia, his wide-ranging sales and marketing experience encompassed public and private markets fixed income, equities, and alternatives for the respective fund management businesses of Hill Samuel, Barings, Rothschild and Credit Agricole/Amundi and as an adviser to Arbour Partners and its GP clients.
