With nearly 40 years’ experience in financial services with a focus on asset and wealth management John is the independent chairman of Hargreaves Lansdown Fund Managers Ltd, the fund subsidiary of Hargreaves Lansdown, and a consultant with Board Level Partners Ltd. John has over 12 years’ experience in senior non-executive roles in financial services having been chairman of Aviva Investors, Northern Trust Global Services and JP Morgan China Growth and Income plc as well as a board member at Brown Shipley and River & Mercantile plc. His experience covers both board leadership and board membership and includes being a member of audit, risk, remuneration and investment committees.

In an executive capacity John was Chief Operating Officer at Baring Management for 11 years and Chief Financial and Operating Officer for LGT Asset Management in Asia from 7 years from 1992-1999. Prior to this he held senior operating positions with James Capel in Asia and London.

John is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
