Mark Carleton-Smith is the former Head of the British Army and longest serving Chief since the Second World War. During a 40 year career Mark commanded the SAS and was Director Special Forces serving across the Middle East, the Balkans, Africa, Afghanistan and South America. Prior to commanding the British Army he was Defence’s Director of Operations and Military Strategy responsible for all British military operations worldwide. He now sits on several boards, is Senior Advisor to the global consultancy CT Group and chairs a charitable trust. He also sits on the Advisory Councils of the Warsaw Security Forum and International Institute of Strategic Studies
