Profile

Michael oversees investment operations, technology, projects, and investment management support and control. In his role, Michael is Chair of the NIM NIMNA Operating Committee. Michael also oversees Newton’s business in North America, working effectively with the executive management team to ensure North American priorities are represented and strategies support profitable and sustainable business growth. Additionally, Michael is responsible for building the Newton brand within North America by managing and developing a cohesive global team and retaining top-tier talent.

Experience: Michael joined BNY Mellon's Corporate Development team in 2007, where he was responsible for mergers and acquisitions. In 2013, he relocated to Hong Kong to become the Investment Management Chief Financial Officer for the APAC region. In 2016, Michael moved to London to head the International Strategy Group for Investment Management.

Prior to joining Newton following the integration of Mellon Investments Corporation’s equity and multi-asset capabilities into the Newton Investment Management Group, Michael was Chief Executive Officer of Active Management, Chief Operating Officer and Head of Strategy at Mellon Investments Corporation (a BNY Mellon group company).

Qualifications: Michael has a BS in Management Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and an MBA from the Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon University.

Board Committee Membership: Manager of NIMNA Board, Member of NIMNA Board Risk Committee.

Interests: Outside of work, Michael enjoys fitness activities, attempting to recreate Texas barbeque in his small outdoor space in Boston, and engaging with the Carnegie Mellon University community through alumni networks.
