Accessibility

The Business Design Centre is a fully DDA-compliant venue.

Arriving at the BDC

If you arrive by car, there are 8 dedicated parking spaces for blue badge holders in the on-site car park. There is a passenger lift to street level or the BDC forecourt, or you can take the 17-step pedestrian staircase.

The route from the car park to the building is well-lit and clearly marked. The surface is firm. There are two staircases between street level and the building (5 and 12 steps respectively, all with handrails). There is also a ramp on the forecourt.

If someone is dropping you off in a vehicle, please contact the BDC front of house team so they can give you access to the forecourt through our security point. Please call 0207 288 6475.

If you are coming by train, the nearest step-free station is Kings Cross and St Pancras International, which is easily reachable via bus or taxi.

Inside the BDC

All the reception desks at the BDC are fitted with DDA-compliant registration points for people in wheelchairs.

All levels of the venue are accessible via passenger lifts, with low-reach buttons, braille, back mirrors and distress alarms. Every staircase in the BDC has handrails. All publicly-accessible areas of the venue are well-lit.

We are happy to accommodate people in wheelchairs in any of our conference spaces.

Toilets

There is an accessible toilet on each level of the venue. Restrooms are accessible with a RADAR key (we keep a spare key in reception). Each toilet has low reach door handles and an emergency pull cord alarm.

You’ll find our accessible toilets at:

  • Ground floor – Stairwell B (no RADAR key required)

There are emergency red phones on each floor of the venue, at the entrance to every stairwell, for visitors to contact reception in the event of an emergency.

If you require additional assistance in the event of an emergency, please let us know so we can support you with a personal evacuation plan.
