Stephanie Marrus is the Founder of Redwood Innovation Advisors, a solo consulting practice focused on entrepreneurship, strategy, fractional business management and business development. Prior to starting Redwood, she was Managing Director, Entrepreneurship, University of California San Francisco (UCSF), the leading scientific research and medical graduate school in the US.
Ms. Marrus is a US State Department Fulbright Program awardee.She brings her Silicon Valley life science/healthcare startup expertise to global audiences and has facilitated the start of numerous companies by training, utilizing her deep network of investors, serial entrepreneurs, CEOs and industry experts. She built the Entrepreneurship Program for 14 years to translate science and medicine into commercial startups, informing thousands in Silicon Valley and globally. Her course, “Global Life Science/Healthcare Entrepreneurship: Virtual Master Class Direct from Silicon Valley”, reached six continents and 42 countries in four years.
Prior to joining UCSF, she held C-Suite positions in biotechnology companies in Boston and Silicon Valley. She has been CEO, COO and VP Corporate Development for public and venture capital backed private firms, leading partnering and M&A transactions, corporate development, strategy, marketing and communications.
She serves on the Advisory Board of BIO’s Investor Forum and Technology Transfer Committee;serves as a frequent international conference speaker and startup judge.
She holds an MBA from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and an MA from Columbia University.
