Joanna Popper is a media and technology executive and award-winning executive producer at the forefront of emerging technology, storytelling, and innovation. She served as Chief Metaverse Officer at Creative Artists Agency (CAA), where she led strategic initiatives for clients in AI, spatial computing, and web3. Previously, Joanna led Go-to-Market for XR at HP, where she launched the HP Reverb G2 and G2 Omnicept Edition. Earlier in her career, she served as EVP of Media and Marketing at Singularity University, guiding global leaders in applying exponential technologies like AI, VR, robotics, and blockchain. At NBCUniversal, she was VP of Marketing for Telemundo, launching top-rated content across television, film, and digital.

As an executive producer, Joanna has developed a slate of acclaimed immersive and AI-powered films. She cofounded Satire AI, which has produced over 30 AI films and earned 20 awards. AI shorts such as Project 2029, D.I.C.E., and others explore urgent social and cultural themes. Immersive projects Finding Pandora X, Breonna’s Garden, and Fight Back premiered at Tribeca, Venice, and SXSW. Finding Pandora X won the Venice Golden Lion and SXSW’s Best Virtual Cinema Award. Breonna’s Garden was recognized by the Producers Guild, Unity, Filmgate, and the Auggie Awards. Fight Back won the Venice Audience Award.


Notable recognitions include XR Hall of Fame, 50 Women to Watch for Boards, Business Transformation 150 and Top Women in Media.


She has served on multiple Boards and advisory committees, including Metaphysic AI (acquired by DNEG), Unity Software’s Charitable Fund (NYSE: U), the Television Academy’s Emerging Media Executive Committee and AI Task Force, the Producers Guild of America’s National Board and Innovation Task Force (Chair), the WXR Fund Coalition, SXSW Advisory Board, the VidCon Industry Advisory Board, AIXR Steering Committee, and the Consumer Technology Association’s AR/VR Working Group.


Joanna is currently focused on innovation, storytelling, and impact through board service, advising companies, and executive producing. She holds a BA from Northwestern University and an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
