Soy is Head of North America, Music & Podcasts Content Strategy at YouTube. Bicultural and bilingual, she has launched first-in-market collaborations between the U.S. and Korea. As a marketer, Soy developed record-breaking, multi-platinum campaigns for artists including BTS, Chloe x Halle, Baby Keem, John Legend, 24kGoldn. Her experiences span marketing (B2B, B2C, PMM, GTM, content); product development; algorithmic recommendation systems; content strategy & distribution (music, film, TV); and business development in the U.S. and Korea. Her work and leadership have been recognized by Variety and the Alt Power 100 List.
Soy believes in paying it forward. She serves as a mentor for national 501c3 Asian American Collective, the Recording Academy’s GRAMMYU, and YouTube's Music & Premium product and engineering org. Soy has been invited to speak at Harvard Business School, Yale SOM, USC Annenberg, NYU Stern, Drexel U, SXSW, MU:CON, NY:LON CONNECT, Music Biz, Country Radio Seminar, and more to discuss: leadership, global music cultures, tech x entertainment, K-culture / K-pop / Korean diaspora, job crafting, the future of digital platforms, and content marketing. She has received academic grants to conduct ethnographic research on Korean society and is a published thought leader on Asian Pacific culture.
Outside of music and film, Soy is a dedicated sports fan and believes in the power of sports for societal change. She serves on the NY board for Street Soccer USA, a national non-profit dedicated to eradicating youth poverty through soccer. She holds an MBA from Yale and BA from Harvard, and is an HBS BEMS alumna.
