Matthieu Arseneau has been an economist at National Bank since 2005 and joined the Economics and Strategy group in 2009. His responsibilities include writing various documents on the economy and financial markets and contributing to the development of forecast scenarios. He currently sits on the Public Policy Committee of the Association des économistes du Québec and on the CIRANO Board of Directors. Prior to joining the Economics and Strategy team, Mr. Arseneau worked in risk management at Banque Nationale, where he was responsible for analyzing various industries in Canada and developing quantitative tools for risk modeling. Previously, he worked at the Université de Sherbrooke's Research Chair in Taxation and Public Finance, where he acquired expertise in the impact of demographic change on the economy and public finances. He holds a bachelor's degree in political science from Université de Montréal and a master's degree in economics from Université du Québec à Montréal.
