John Lyons is a career banker with experience leading P&L businesses, operations & change, strategy and innovation.

He has a particular passion for building compelling payments experiences and partnerships. As a Director at TSB, John has been responsible for Payments, Open Banking, Fintech Partnerships, Procurement and Operations.

Previously John was the Director of Payments Strategy and Business Development at RBS where he led their early payments innovation programme and the development of their transformation plans for payments. Prior to this, John had a varied leadership career at NatWest/RBS with notable divisional executive level roles that include Managing Director of Global Transaction Banking UK and Global Head of Change for the International Bank.

He has held Non-Executive Director Board positions at both Vocalink and CHAPS Co and was a member of the UK Finance Payments Product and Services Board. John’s professional development has included programs at Harvard Business School, Wharton Business School and INSEAD.

John is now an independent banking, payments and Fintech advisor.
