Zahid Afzal's career spanned over 36 years. Most recently, he was Chief Operating Officer and bank president of Premier Bank. Prior to that, he was the Chief Operating Officer of Capital Bank.

Prior to joining Capital Bank, he was the Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Information/Operating Officer for Huntington Bancshares Incorporated. Afzal was Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer for Bank of America Consumer Banking.

Prior to that, he had been in various leadership positions at Broadslate Networks, Citicorp and MCI Communications. Afzal earned his degree in Computer Science and Management from Strayer University. He also completed executive leadership programs from Duke University and Ohio State University.

Afzal currently serves on the boards of Premier Bank (Ticker: PFC), Buckeye Insurance Group (https://www.buckeye-ins.com) and Education for Employment (EFE.ORG).

Afzal previously served on various for profit and non-profit boards and is actively involved in the professional and local communities.
