DAY 1 ✦ 2 Nov 2026 - Europe/Lisbon
Today’s medical meetings environment is more complex, regulated, and scrutinized than ever before. Shifting healthcare regulations, evolving compliance expectations, hybrid delivery models, increased cost pressures, and a new generation of planners entering the workforce have raised the bar for how medical meetings must be designed, managed, and measured. The Medical Meeting Planners (MMP) Certificate is designed to prepare meeting and event professionals to confidently plan, execute, and manage compliant medical meetings across pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, and healthcare organizations. Whether you are new to healthcare meetings or an experienced planner looking to strengthen your compliance fluency and operational expertise, this program builds the foundational knowledge and applied skills required to reduce risk and deliver effective medical meetings. Participants who earn the MMP Certificate demonstrate a working understanding of medical meeting terminology, regulatory considerations, planning workflows, and industry best practices—enabling them to support stakeholders, vendors, and healthcare professionals with confidence.
By completing the MMP Certificate, you will be able to:
Define what qualifies as a medical meeting and distinguish between promotional, non-promotional, educational, and advisory formats
Apply the end-to-end planning process for medical meetings, from strategy through execution and reporting
Execute key planning functions including sourcing, contracting, transportation, food and beverage, speaker management, exhibits, and production
Build, manage, and reconcile medical meeting budgets, billing structures, and performance analytics
Plan and deliver compliant in-person, virtual, and hybrid medical meetings
Integrate sustainability, safety, and duty-of-care considerations into medical meeting design
Understand the role of compliance, transparency, and ethics in healthcare meetings, including interactions with healthcare professionals (HCPs)

In this keynote, Harry Verbunt shares his personal journey following an oesophageal cancer diagnosis that shifted from curative to metastatic, and his experience navigating life as a patient within a clinical trial. Drawing on both his lived experience and his professional background as a former global healthcare leader, Harry offers a powerful dual perspective on the realities of patient engagement, treatment journeys, and unmet needs. His story brings the patient voice to life and challenges pharmaceutical organizations to rethink how collaboration, communication, and care delivery can be better organized around real patient experiences.
