Andrea Kocharyan is currently Vice President, Development and Compliance at uniQure biopharma B.V., a clinical stage company developing gene therapy treatment options for disease areas with significant unmet need. Andrea’s experience in the bio-pharmaceutical industry spans more than 25 years and includes both legal and scientific roles. Most recently, Andrea served as Vice President, Legal, at Flagship Pioneering, supporting the needs of Flagship’s ever growing portfolio of bioplatform companies. Prior to Flagship, Andrea held leadership positions at Zealand Pharma US, where she served as Vice President, Head of Legal and Chief Compliance Officer, Sumitomo Dainippon Pharma Oncology, and rEVO biologics. Andrea began her career as a scientist with roles at Genzyme and Biogen, and transitioned into the legal field while at Biogen.  Andrea’s passion is helping young companies build not only their legal and compliance infrastructure, but also a foundational compliance culture, by engaging with stakeholders to form strong relationships and providing pragmatic, business focused advice.
