Joe Philipose is the Senior Vice President, Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer at Emergent Biosolutions a pharmaceutical manufacturer with greater than $1 billion in revenue annually. In addition to leading the E&C function, Joe also helped create the Enterprise Risk Management and Privacy functions. Prior to joining Emergent, Joe held a series of leadership positions in the Biopharmaceutical industry. Most recently, he was VP of US & Enterprise Compliance at Alexion Pharmaceuticals prior to their acquisition by AstraZeneca. Prior to that, he was at Salix Pharmaceuticals and PwC in their Life Science Consulting practice. He held strategy and commercial roles at Biogen and Pfizer and he practiced law early in his career. Joe earned his BA from the University at Buffalo (SUNY) and his law degree from Washington University. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Animal Protection Society of Durham (NC).
