Profile
Marielle Hossack brings more than a decade of experience in communications, public policy, and government relations, with a strong foundation in federal politics and public-sector decision-making. She began her career in international development and federal urban planning before spending several years on Parliament Hill, where she served as Senior Communications Advisor and Press Secretary to the Honourable Carla Qualtrough, and later as a Speechwriter to Prime Minister Trudeau. In these roles, she supported complex policy files and helped communicate major government initiatives during periods of heightened public and media scrutiny. In her role at FRPO, Marielle combines her professional policy background with a practical understanding of the rental housing market. As a rental housing provider, she brings an on-the-ground perspective to housing policy discussions, one that recognizes the importance of fairness, predictability, and long-term sustainability for both residents and providers. Known for her collaborative and solutions-oriented approach, Marielle works closely with government, industry partners, and stakeholders to advance policies that improve the functioning of the Landlord and Tenant Board, reduce barriers to new rental supply, and support continued investment in purpose-built rental housing, contributing to healthy, stable communities across Ontario.
