Ammar Kanaan is the Chief Executive Officer of Terminal Investment Limited (TiL) based in Geneva, Switzerland. He has been in this position since April 2018. TiL is one of the major global container terminal operators, owned by MSC, GIP and GIC, with investments and operations in over 80 ports worldwide, including some of the largest ports such as Long Beach, Los Angeles, Newark, Houston, Ningbo, Singapore, Valencia, Antwerp, Rotterdam, Santos, Busan and many others. Over the past many years, TiL has consistently outpaced the market growth, both in good and challenging times, and has grown in double digits year on year.

Previously Ammar Kanaan had founded and managed the International Port Management (IPM) Group of companies, providing management, systems and technical services to the container terminal industry, with offices in Liverpool (England), Boston (Massachusetts), and Mobile (Alabama). Prior to that Ammar Kanaan worked for 15 years in Boston as a consultant, initially with Parsons and eventually with IBI Group working mostly on intelligent transportation systems as well as the Big Dig.

Ammar Kanaan has a BE degree in Civil Engineering from AUB and a Masters of Science in Transportation degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
