Bob Cantey a managing director at Nuveen and Head of Originations for Private Placements.

As Head of Originations, Bob is responsible for the leading the origination effort for private ABS, infrastructure debt, credit tenet loans and corporate credit. Nuveen Private Placements has grown to over $65 billion in AUM. He joined the company’s public fixed income team in 2005 as an investment grade corporate analyst. In 2011 he, he moved to the private placement team to focus on private corporates and to grow the infrastructure debt platform. In 2022, he was promoted to Head of Origination for Private Placements. Prior to joining Nuveen, Bob worked at ING in the public fixed income group from 2000-2005. He began his career at First Union in 1996 as a fixed income analyst.

Bob graduated with a B.A in Economics from Wofford College and an M.A. in Economics from the University of South Carolina.
