Responsibilities
John is the Global Head of Economics & Markets Strategy. He oversees the Economics & Markets Strategy Team and product and helps develop, package and deliver our Global Economics & Markets Strategy offering and macro crossasset strategy to our internal and external clients. He is a member of the US regional Management Team, as well as the global Sales and Trading Management Teams.
Previous positions
Prior to his current position, John was the Head of Strategy, Americas, and was responsible for leading and coordinating NatWest Markets’ Desk strategy efforts in the Americas, with a focus on determining and effectively delivering the bank’s macro cross-asset view. In this role and as Head of US Treasury Strategy, he published the flagship daily “Treasury Morning Call”, as well as numerous weekly technical publications and ad-hoc analyses and recommendations. John also co-authors the global macro ESG Analysis publication series, “The ESG Evolution”. Additionally, John held the role of Head of Cross-Asset Strategy and also Head of Asset-Backed Products Strategy, where he managed and coordinated the bank’s strategic views in MBS, ABS, and Structured Products.
Previous experience
Prior to joining the bank, John was a Proprietary Trader at BWT Professional Trading, Inc. and a Senior Portfolio Manager at Prologue Capital LLC. In addition, he spent 11 years serving in a variety of roles at Capra Asset Management, including Head Trader for more than seven years.
Education
John has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree from Bucknell University and a Master of Science in Financial Risk Management from the University of Connecticut.
Other Activities
John is a member of the NatWest Global DE&I Committee and champions diversity and inclusion across the firm. From 2015 to 2021, John was the Executive Sponsor for US Graduate Recruitment, Junior Management Team, and the NWM Analyst Associate Program, taking an active role in the talent development of young new hires across the organization. He is also a member of The Economic Club of New York.
