Gianpaolo Tomasi is a Director at Deutsche Bank and leads the Equity Research team within the Quantitative Investment Solutions (QIS) division. His primary areas of expertise include alpha generation, alpha combination, and portfolio optimization for low- and medium-frequency equity strategies. His research interests also extend to machine learning and intraday alpha generation. Prior to joining Deutsche Bank, Gianpaolo spent six years in the hedge fund industry in London and Oxford, first as a quantitative researcher and later as a portfolio manager. Gianpaolo holds a Ph.D. in Bioengineering from the University of Padova. Before transitioning to finance, he worked as a Research Associate at Yale University and Imperial College London, where his research focused on medical imaging.
