His YouTube Channel Stand-Up Maths has over 1.3 million subscribers and is where he explores the surprising, quirky, and often hilarious side of mathematics. His videos cover everything from mathematical puzzles, paradoxes, and patterns to real-world applications, cutting-edge research, and playful deep-dives into numbers, shapes, and logic. He also unpacks big ideas in areas like AI, quantum computing, and emerging technologies. With over 100 million views, the channel blends clear explanations, humour, and curiosity, showing that maths is not just useful, but genuinely fun.

Matt is also the author of the acclaimed books Humble Pi and Love Triangle, both of which reached #1 on multiple national and international bestseller lists. He has worked across television, radio, and print, including with BBC Radio 4, Discovery, and The Guardian, where he is regularly invited to explain technical topics in clear and relatable ways.

A former maths teacher turned stand-up and communicator, Matt brings energy, clarity, and precision to every stage. He studied mathematics at the University of Western Australia before moving to the UK, where he became a public engagement fellow at Queen Mary University of London. He was the first person to use an overhead projector at the Hammersmith Apollo since Pink Floyd and in 2024, asteroid 314159 was officially named “Mattparker” in his honour.
