Peter Block leads the business in Western Canada for CIBC’s Real Estate Finance Division, which is responsible for delivering innovative financial solutions to meet client needs and providing expert insight into the banking market. He manages billions of dollars in real estate credit and has extensive experience with construction and project finance, mergers and acquisitions, privatizations, and loan syndications. His business covers a range of clients in the public, private and institutional sectors and includes all major real estate asset classes. Mr. Block also sits on CIBC’s Sustainable Finance Governance Committee.

Having served in multiple roles at CIBC, Peter Block has over 18 years of experience financing real estate transactions across Canada and the US.

Mr. Block serves as a Director on the Board of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Toronto. He is a frequent guest lecturer at the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto.
