Profile
As Chief Information Officer at the Financial Conduct Authority, Ian leads the Technology portfolio, service delivery and a broad structure of teams for the division and wider organisation. The Technology function provides pivotal service and integral infrastructure across the organisation, that underpins the expanse of work we deliver as a public facing body and digital platform, as well as co-leading the transformation and innovation drive to the FCA becoming a data and intelligence led regulator.
Since joining the FCA as the CIO in January 2021, the Technology Division has completed a multi-year journey to exit legacy data centres, becoming the first global regulator to be truly in the cloud. During this time, the Technology organisation has achieved Platinum Partner Status from the British Computer Society, in recognition of our work in promoting Digital & Technology standards and professional pathways.
In his earlier career, Ian was Associate Partner for the CIO Advisory Services business with EY, advising the C-Suite on the most challenging industry issues. Prior to this. Ian was the European CIO at the Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi where he was responsible for developing and establishing the technology vision and strategic plan to transform organisational performance, supporting multi-billion-pound revenues, to deliver significant and highly focused commercial results.
