Zoe was appointed Cit’s Chief Risk Officer for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) in December 2020. Zoe has over 30 years of experience in investment and corporate banking, primarily within Risk Management. She has substantial experience in governance, managing within regulatory environments, strategic projects as well as risk management.
Zoe returned to Citi as EMEA CRO in 2020 after 2 years at Morgan Stanley as EMEA Head of Lending where she had responsibility for multiple credit risk teams. Prior to this, Zoe was at Citi from 2013 to 2018 in Risk Management where her roles included CRO for the UK legal entities and EMEA & Asia head of restructuring overseeing criticised and classified portfolios of c$10bn. She was heavily involved in Citi’s Brexit planning, leading the firm’s Brexit steering group.
Zoe joined Citi in 2013 from Barclays Investment Bank where she spent 20 years. She began her career on the Barclays graduate training scheme, then moved to the Investment Banking Leverage Finance team. Her second decade at Barclays Investment Bank was in Risk Management where she headed up various wholesale credit risk teams including Restructuring, CRE, Securitisation, and was a senior member of the Leverage Finance team. Zoe holds a BSc Hon degree from Aston University and an MBA from Warwick Business School. Zoe is a Director on the Board of Citigroup Markets Limited and a Non-Executive Director for Cifas, a not for profit fraud prevention organisation.
