Lindsey is the Chief Risk Officer of USS Ltd, the trustee of the UK’s largest pension scheme by assets and CRO of USS Investment Management, its dedicated manager, which manages the scheme’s £70bn of assets. He oversees ALM and funding risk for the scheme, investment risk and performance, and information security, enterprise and operational risk.
Over the last 3 years he has designed and implemented a new enterprise risk appetite framework and a new investment framework for setting the risk parameters for the investment portfolio. He is also Chair of the Board of CFA UK and a member of the Investment Committee of Constanter Stiftung, a charitable foundation.
He was previously at UBS for 28 years, working in the Investment Bank, as a senior advisor in Wealth Management, and latterly as EMEA and UK Chief Risk Officer and Global Head of Investment Risk for UBS Asset Management. Along the way he co-headed and sold a business providing Risk and Performance Analytics to asset owners and managers, was Head of Risk Education and Communication for the UBS Group and ran the middle office function for all derivatives. He loves to teach finance and risk and is a visiting fellow at ICMA Centre, Henley Business School, University of Reading.
