Profile
Dr Khalid Nur combines strong academic research qualifications with a wealth of professional industry experience in intelligent transport and technology, underpinned by a Systems Thinking approach and analytical and leadership skills. He holds a PhD degree from Imperial College London, where he worked for over 4 years as a Post Doctoral Researcher on innovative mobility solutions and data processing/analytics algorithms.
Khalid is a Chartered Engineer (UK CEng), with over 19 years of experience in transport research, planning, systems, and technologies; with a focus on developing and applying innovative solutions to enhance transport safety, efficiency, and sustainability. He successfully led the scoping and delivery of a wide range of road, rail, aviation and maritime projects across the UK, Middle East, and East Asia.
In his current role in NEOM, Khalid focuses on defining the planning guidelines and operational concepts for shared micromobility and autonomous mobility systems; developing design requirements for intelligent transport infrastructure; and ensuring alignment between urban master planning, mobility system specification, and intelligent infrastructure design.
