Dr Khalid Nur combines strong academic credentials with extensive industry experience in intelligent transport and technology. His work is grounded in systems thinking, analytical rigor, and leadership. He holds a PhD from Imperial College London, where he spent more than four years as a postdoctoral researcher developing innovative mobility solutions and data-processing and analytics algorithms.
Khalid is a UK Chartered Engineer (CEng) with 20 years of experience in transport research, planning, systems, and technology. He specializes in developing and applying innovative solutions to improve transport safety, efficiency, and sustainability. He has successfully led the scoping and delivery of road, rail, aviation, and maritime projects across the UK, Middle East, and East Asia.
At NEOM, Khalid leads the Mobility Planning team. His work focuses on establishing planning guidelines and operating concepts for shared micromobility and autonomous mobility systems, defining design requirements for intelligent transport infrastructure, and aligning urban master planning with mobility system specifications and infrastructure design.
