Dr. Mohammed Almannaa is an Associate Professor of Civil Engineering at King Saud University (KSU), specializing in traffic engineering and transportation systems. He holds a B.Sc. from KSU and both an M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Transportation Engineering from Virginia Tech. In addition to his academic role, he serves as Head of Research and Innovation at the AI Center and works as a consultant with government and private organizations.

Dr. Almannaa has authored and co-authored more than 40 research papers in conferences and journals, with contributions that span intelligent transportation systems, traffic safety, micro-mobility, and the use of AI and machine learning in transportation. His experience includes projects funded by the U.S. Department of Transportation, and he has been recognized with multiple awards, such as the first place in the UAS4T competition at the IEEE ITSC in 2020.

Beyond academia, Dr. Almannaa serves as Chairman of the Scientific Advisory Council at Aman Association for Traffic Accident Prevention, and he is the founder of the Saudi Chapter of IEEE ITSS. He also plays an active role in several governance and scientific committees at KSU, particularly those focusing on transportation safety and academic innovation.
