Profile
Mr. Stern joined the Investment Office of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation in 2012. At the Foundation Mr. Stern is part of the group overseeing all private investments including Venture Capital, Buyout and Growth Capital as well as Real Assets and Private Credit investments. Mr. Stern came to the Foundation from Rockefeller University where he was also responsible for its private investments portfolio. Prior to that he worked at Standard & Poor’s as a director in the Higher Education and Not-for-Profit Group, which was part of the Public Finance Department. At S&P Mr. Stern worked closely with a large number of universities and foundations across the United States. Over the course of his career he also worked as an investment banker, focusing on higher education institutions. Mr. Stern received an M.P.A. in public finance from the Maxwell School at Syracuse University, an M.S. in non-profit management from New York University and a B.A. in history and sociology from Binghamton University
