Founder & Managing Partner at Ambienta
Panellist

Profile

Nino is Ambienta’s Founder and Managing Partner, based in Milan and is responsible for the vision, leadership and oversight of Ambienta’s operations and strategy.

Nino has a long history in environmental sustainability. In his final university dissertation in 1992, guided by the idea that environmental sustainability is the most mega of all mega trends, Nino theorized that by riding this wave one could not only positively impact the environment but also reap superior financial returns. He went on to establish the Environmental Practice in McKinsey’s Milan office in 1993, then became an environmental entrepreneur in 1997 by creating Cam Tecnologie, a business focused on cleaner fuels and wind farms, and was instrumental in the establishment of the Kyoto clubs in Europe, before deciding to put his dissertation idea into action and creating Ambienta in 2007.

In 2022, Nino received the very first Hall of Fame award by Real Deals, who recognized him for the ability to proactively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders alike and the success in the implementation of ESG strategies in the firm. In addition, the award also recognizes Ambienta’s leading, unique and proprietary ESG in Action programme.

Nino is Chairman of the Ambienta Foundation and a Board Member of San Patrignano Foundation. Prior to founding Ambienta in 2007, Nino worked at Telecom Italia group, first as CEO of Finsiel and subsequently as General Manager of Olivetti.

He holds a degree (cum laude) in Business Administration from Luiss University, Rome, and an MBA from INSEAD.
Nino speaks Italian (native), English (fluent) and French (proficient).
