Karan Pinto is a deep tech entrepreneur, venture builder and technology strategist focused on sovereign AI, critical infrastructure and frontier technologies across emerging markets. He is Director, Chief Technology & Growth Officer at The Utopia Studio, the venture creation arm of Utopia Capital Management, a venture platform focused on driving growth in emerging and frontier markets.

Based in Doha, Qatar, The Utopia Studio, supported by Qatar Development Bank, co-builds sovereign-ready AI and infrastructure startups with domain-expert founders across the Middle East, Africa and Asia, focusing on strategic sectors where resilient digital infrastructure, localized AI capability and critical technologies are becoming national priorities. As part of its company-building model which uses their flagship product called Utopia OS, The Studio offers hands-on operational support across product and go-to-market complemented by early-stage capital, giving founders holistic backing from ideation to scale and unique access to Utopia’s funds – Atypical Ventures and The Radical Fund.

His work focuses on how governments, enterprises and investors can deploy frontier technologies across regulated and infrastructure-heavy sectors while balancing sovereignty, resilience and long-term strategic competitiveness.

Previously, Karan was Global Director of Growth & Product at Terra Quantum, where he led commercialization initiatives spanning quantum AI, quantum security and enterprise deep-tech deployment. He helped launch one of the world’s first no-code quantum AI platforms while leading engagements with Fortune 500 organizations across financial services, energy, industrials, automotive and life sciences — with a focus on secure infrastructure, advanced computing and next-generation enterprise resilience.

In addition to his role at The Studio, Karan is a Board Advisor at Swarm One, an sovereign AI infrastructure platform, and at Navon, a developer of sovereign-ready modular co-location data centers.

His perspectives span AI sovereignty, quantum technologies, digital infrastructure, venture creation and the evolving role of frontier markets in the global technology landscape.
