Michael Schelper is an Operating Partner. Michael has over 20 years of experience in healthcare and life sciences on the operations and investment side. He is a growth & innovation-focused executive, having led international health technology businesses, with an emphasis on scaling healthcare platforms across Europe, the Middle East, and emerging markets.

Prior to joining Deerfield, Mr. Schelper served as the Healthcare and Life Sciences Cluster head at the Abu Dhabi Investment Office, Managing Partner at Anvano, a healthcare and life sciences venture capital and advisory firm, and Chief Growth Officer of a Private Family Office.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Schelper served as Senior Vice President of Corporate Development at Caresyntax and spent over ten years at Oracle Health (formerly Cerner Corp) in a series of leadership roles, including Chief Operating Officer, Middle East and Africa; General Manager for Strategic Growth Markets; and Director and Regional Executive for EMEAI M&A and Consulting.

Mr. Schelper holds an M.B.A. from INSEAD and a B.Sc. in Business Information Systems from Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences.
