Omer Zabit is a Partner at Shorooq, leading the firm’s Venture Capital practice across UAE, Qatar, and a few other frontier markets. He has deep operating experience across the region across startups, scale-ups, and the corporate sector. This includes, 5+ years at Careem in commercial leadership roles including as a leader of Careem’s food delivery business across MENAP. Prior to joining Careem, he worked for another 5+ years in product & strategy roles in the mobile money space with both Jazzcash & Easypaisa. Omer started his career at IBM, building their data centre business as a technical consultant.

He earned an MBA from LUMS, and BE from NUST, the leading business & engineering schools in Pakistan. In his free time, he likes to play racquet sports and unwind with his loved ones.
