Omer Zabit is a Principal with Shorooq Partners, leading their investment efforts across UAE, Pakistan, and a few other frontier markets like Turkey & Bangladesh. He is also actively involved in managing portfolio companies while driving the sourcing initiatives across the wider MENAP region.

He joined the investment firm from Careem, the regional super-app, where he worked as the global head of food delivery business. Omer's expertise in strategy, operations, and market development mainly comes from his time at the company where he directly contributed to Careem's growth across various markets & business-lines. Prior to joining Careem, he led product & strategy functions at some of the prominent mobile money players, Jazzcash and Easypaisa, in Pakistan. He began his career with IBM, consulting their clients on technical projects across banking, energy, and agri sectors.

He earned his MBA from the prestigious LUMS University in Pakistan and his B.E from the premier engineering college, NUST in Pakistan. In his free time he likes to play racquet sports and unwind with his loved ones.
