Fernando Martinez is a Senior Portfolio Manager for the Global Credit strategy at the Investment Management Corporation of Ontario (IMCO), an institutional investor managing CAD$77.4 billion of assets on behalf of its public sector clients. Mr. Martinez co-leads a ~$8 billion global credit strategy within IMCO focusing on private credit (funds & directs) ranging from senior secured direct lending to hybrid instruments and capital solutions. Prior to IMCO, he was a Director at Sun Life Capital Management’s Private Fixed Income team, working on private debt investment opportunities in the US, Canada, and the UK. He began his career at Citigroup in 2006, covering different industries within the institutional clients’ segment. Mr. Martinez graduated from the MBA program at the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management and holds a Bachelor of Science in industrial engineering from The Javeriana University in Bogota, Colombia. He is based in Toronto.
