Jennifer Shum is Senior Managing Director, Structured & Private Credit. She leads the team responsible for investing globally in structured products and private credit. Since joining HOOPP in 2012, she has led the expansion of the credit portfolio in asset investing and origination across finance markets, including commercial and residential mortgages, consumer asset classes, private credit opportunities, transportation debt and digital technology assets.

Jennifer commenced her career as a fixed-income trader for Goldman Sachs in New York and other international offices. She has held various senior leadership roles focused on capital markets, asset securitization and syndication. Jennifer served as Vice President, Head of Capital Markets and Syndication at Otera Capital (Subsidiary of the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec) and as Managing Director, Securitization Trading and Group Head of CMBS at TD Securities.

Jennifer earned her BCom, and was awarded the Leslie G.J. Wong Memorial Fellowship, from the University of British Columbia. She holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD.D) designations and has served on several boards over her career.
