Matt Schwartz is the Global Co-Chair of DLA Piper's Finance Practice and Co-Head of the firm's Private Credit group, helping lead a broad range of finance disciplines, including leveraged/debt finance, structured finance, sports, media & entertainment, projects and energy finance, and restructuring. For more than 20 years, Matt has represented banks and private credit funds in structuring, negotiating, and executing complex debt, equity, and hybrid financing transactions across a wide range of industries including technology, AI, life sciences and healthcare. In addition to his legal practice, Matt is deeply committed to mentorship and community service. He is the co-founder of the Legal Mentor Network, a nonprofit dedicated to mentoring young lawyers and law students from underrepresented communities, and serves in advisory and leadership roles with several charitable organizations.
