Steve Pak is a Senior Investment Officer in the Alternative Credit Group at the Office of the New York City Comptroller’s Bureau of Asset Management (BAM), which oversees the assets of the five New York City Retirement Systems. He is responsible for sourcing, underwriting, and monitoring private credit investments across a global portfolio, with a focus on generating strong, risk-adjusted returns aligned with the Systems’ fiduciary objectives. His work spans manager due diligence, portfolio construction, performance analysis, and investment communications supporting board-level decision making.
Steve first joined BAM in 2019 as a Senior Investment Analyst in the Real Estate Group, where he evaluated funds and separately managed accounts across core, value-add, and opportunistic strategies. After more than three years with the Bureau, he transitioned to the private sector before rejoining BAM in 2023 to focus on alternative credit.
Earlier in his career, he held various strategy, research, and business development roles within the real estate investment and advisory space, supporting fund formation, market analytics, and investor communications.
He earned a BBA in Finance and Investments from Baruch College, City University of New York.
