Adam Waglay is a Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Butterfly, a Los Angeles-based private equity firm specializing in the food sector. Mr. Waglay has over 15 years of investing and operating experience with a primary focus on the food sector, and is responsible for deal origination, transaction execution, portfolio management and overall leadership of Butterfly. To date, Mr. Waglay has been involved in transactions totaling over $5 billion of invested capital. Mr. Waglay serves on the board of directors of each of Chosen Foods, MaryRuth's, Pete and Gerry's, Orgain, Bolthouse Farms, Modern Restaurant Concepts, The Kitchen and the Butterfly Equity Foundation.
Prior to founding Butterfly, Mr. Waglay was a senior member of KKR’s Consumer Retail Private Equity team, where he had worked from 2007 to 2016 with a primary focus on the food sector. During this time, he was actively involved in several transactions, including Dollar General, Academy Sports + Outdoors, National Vision and Lemonade. Prior to joining KKR in 2007, Mr. Waglay worked at Goldman Sachs & Co. where he was part of the Consumer Retail Investment Banking team with a primary focus on the food sector. Mr. Waglay graduated from McGill University with a Bachelor of Commerce.
