Dr. Amit Kakar leads investments and partnerships for Novo Holdings across Asia. He joined Novo Holdings in August 2020 as Head of Asia and is responsible for building and scaling the firm’s regional investment platform, with a strategic focus on its core markets of China, India, and Southeast Asia, as well as selected markets with strong opportunities in biopharmaceutical manufacturing, life science research tools, diagnostics, and platform technologies – such as Korea.

Dr. Amit brings more than 25 years of global healthcare experience, having held senior leadership and investment roles across India, China, Singapore, Denmark, and the United States. Prior to joining Novo Holdings, he was Head of M&A and Business Development at Everlife Asia, Head of Healthcare Investments for Asia at Avenue Capital Group, and held various senior management positions at GE Healthcare.

Dr. Amit is a medical doctor with a postgraduate degree in Radiation and Nuclear Medicine from Tata Memorial Hospital and Cancer Centre in Mumbai, India.
