Grant McCarthy is a seasoned investor and technology startup advisor with more than 25 years of experience. He is the Co-Founder of Tidal Ventures, a venture capital firm focused on early-stage SaaS investments.

Grant began his career at Yahoo (1999–2007), where he worked with leading Australian businesses including Seek and CarSales. During this time, he also gained exposure to landmark internet deals involving Alibaba, SoftBank, and Baidu. He later built a career in TMT investment banking across South Asia and Australia before co-founding Tidal Ventures in 2016.

At Tidal, Grant specialises in early-stage and growth-stage AI-native application investments across Australia and the United States. He brings deep expertise in product development, strategy, go-to-market execution, and international expansion, drawing on his experience advising and investing in companies including PredictHQ, Shippit, FrankieOne, DriveYello, and LifLenz. He partners closely with founders from the earliest stages, helping them navigate critical challenges, scale their go-to-market efforts, and prepare for institutional capital raising.
